MUSIC???
The most familiar wedding song that most people know is "Here Comes The Bride" - which, by-the-way, is called Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin by Richard Wagner. (Some people pronounce it "Vagner")
But what about the other music?
Oh yea...you need to pick music for the rest of the bridal party to walk to.
And what about music for the ceremony??? Are you going to have a ceremony ritual like Lighting of the Unity Candle or Butterfly Release?
And then after the pronouncement of Mr. and Mrs., what music will be playing while you are leaving the ceremony site?
First a quick lesson on ceremony music: Ceremony music consists of four parts
Think of prelude music as "music for your guests to sit down to". Your prelude music is what is played when the guests start arriving for your ceremony. These songs are played for abut 30 - 45 minutes before the actual ceremony begins.
Traditionally, classical music is the choice. But don't let that stop you from selecting some contemporary music. Many modern songs are available in instrumental version and would be appropriate for some ceremony sites.
Processional music begins when the bridal party walks down the aisle. This also includes the traditional "Here Comes the Bride" song.
Interlude music can be "your song" or something that is meaningful to you both. This song can be played prior to your vows or during a ceremony ritual like Lighting of the Unity Candle.
Recessional music is played after you are pronounced, kissed, and presented: I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride. ***KISS*** I have the pleasure of presenting Mr. and Mrs. The recessional music will begin and the two of you will walk up the aisle. This music will continue playing as the bridal party follows you. More recessional-type music will continue playing as your guests leave their seats.
